not sure how to use this

Hello i m just starting out for the first time in a media forum..looking for help with my 1970 chevy c20 longhorn overheating issues...for some reason when i turn on my air conditioner it starts to climb to 220 or more when i turn it off it drops back down. ANY INFORMATION WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU...if this even makes it to the right place that is
