1962 4x4 Suburban
I just bought a sweet 62 4x4 Burb. And was wondering who makes new leaf springs? I would like to raise it a few inchs. I would also like it to have a reasonable amount of travel. Thanks Doug

Re: 1962 4x4 Suburban
Welcome.
Whats your idea of reasonable travel? If your Burb is a 1/2 ton and running 52s in the rear, the travel and ride will be about the same if you go with a stock replacement. If your so inclined to bump up to 3/4 ton 56s you may get a little more travel. If you swap to the later 62 -63s, you'll see a bunch of gained travel, and more compliant ride. Ive got the 62 rears and 52 fronts. Its pretty flexy. I needed to add a sway bar. Sometime in the near future, I may add a couple of 3/4 ton leaves to the rear to get the load capacity back up a little.

Click on <go advanced>
then <manage attachments> then <choose file> click on <upload> quick and easy. I like photobucket and the like but if you close the account or change anything you loose the link.....ever search for a topic and see a post and you see no photo or photo link bad etc???? that is why I upload in forums. Good luck and will keep track of your progress...

Re: 1962 4x4 Suburban
Mine were take offs. Front 52s came from the rear of a 73-74 C10. Rears came off of an 07 Silverado. Front spring mounts were DIY4x4. Rear/ rear hangers were DIY also. Rear / fronts were ORD.
As far as stock length lift springs, theres a bunch of companies. Deaver comes to mind. Theres also Superlift, Rancho and a bunch of others that I really can't comment on BC I don't have much experience with them. Yes^^ Yes x2^^^

Re: 1962 4x4 Suburban
Off Road Design - Nice well built stuff.
DIY4x4 - Nice extremely well built stuff that could be confused with parts from an M1 Abrams.
