Need Sound Guys Help
Need some help from some of you guys good with sound systems.
This is what I have, and what I think, I'm trying to do. 1987 Suburban, I've replaced the radio with a "Custom Autosound USA-230" with the Bluetooth added to the AUX-IN ports and have the four remaining RCA ports left in the rear of the unit (FL/FR, RL/RR) and the standard speaker wire connections off the back. What I would like to do is run the 3 1/2 inch dash speakers off the normal wires/connections provided for the standard speaker connections off back of the radio. But, also have a set of 6 1/2 in the Kick panels, the 4x10's in the rear, along with an under the seat subwoofer (powered/non-powered, which ever works best) My thought is one of two things but open to anything: A basic 5-Channel amp for the four speakers and a non-powered Sub-woofer? But how would is that wired? (would you not need a RCA off the radio for the Sub-woofer that I don't have?) Or, go with a four channel amp for the speakers and then a powered Sub-woofer? But how would it be wired? (Where would the RCA jacks/signal come from for the Sub-woofer?) For some reason, my head is not working on this one and I'm having trouble finding a connection diagram on either of them. Any help would be great!! Thanks, rideair |

Re: Need Sound Guys Help
Edited after I re-read your problem.
I would use the head unit to power the dash speaker and 4x10's Then you could use the 4 RCA's to either power a 4-Channel Amp, front two channels to run the 6.5" speakers up front and bridge the rear channels for a sub. OR A 2-Channel Amp for the 6.5" speaker and a 1 channel amp for the Sub Me personally, I like to run a 3 speaker system. Fronts and a Sub, no matter how big the vehicle. I would use the dash and rear speakers as fill-in sound only. The dash and rear speakers will do just fine with the head unit stock power. Hope that helps and the mods should move this to the Audio sub forum. Rob Last edited by Bobby Pootz; 04-03-2017 at 04:18 PM. |
