Re: cheyenne emblem replacement

Factory painted the fender then installed the emblem, then installed the fender.
Its a tough job to install when fender is installed. I would glue it on. Or
Remove inner fender, remove hood or loosen it up on all bolts, take upper fender bolts almost all the way out, remove lower fender bolt to make clearance to get the nuts on.
If using new emblems, install the nuts on emblems before installing to cut the threads in the die cast studs. Use a fine tooth ratcheting wrench to get the nuts on tight. Or hammer a regular wrench flat.

You don't need to mess with the hood. Just remove the tire and inner fender. Plenty of room to do the job.

By removing the tire it makes it easier to drop the inner fender. It also makes it easier to reach the nuts on the emblems.

Re: cheyenne emblem replacement

Just put new ones on my truck. I ran the new nuts all the way down on the new emblems to set the new threads. I also put grease on the inside of the fender around the holes before I put the nuts on to coat the steel to help stop rust. Good luck hope you have fun with it.
