Cab Lights
I bought another 72 for parts, but I think I like this one better, anyway the cab has marker lights on the roof. These aren't aftermarket ones because the roof is molded to the lights. The truck has a V8 with a 4 speed with 1st gear a granny and is also 4X4. This is why I think I will build it instead of the other one. Does anyone know if this/these trucks were made for a special purpose like the Ford Snow Fighters?

Re: Cab Lights
Welcome to the World of Old Chevy Trucks.
Cab lights were Option U01 and when cab lights were ordered they came with the special cab. My 1970 has them, and you will find a lot of trucks with cab lights.

Re: Cab Lights
If you decide that you don't want to build this one I'll be glad to take it off your hands, lol. It's an odd option if you ask me, I love them, but the dealers installed clearance lights too but they don't looknow as cool as the fireman's hats. Congrats on the new truck.

Re: Cab Lights
Agree - UO1s look the best, but dealer installed Yankee 77's look nice too. I'd go with the cab light truck, they look good on a 3/4 or 1 tonner.

Re: Cab Lights
No special snow plowing models were offered. I never knew about the Ford Snow Fighter, not that I know as much about Fords. I do recall the Dodge Snow Commander later in the '70s

Re: Cab Lights
Too bad roof skins with the cab light pads aren't available. One of the few body parts not repop'd for these trucks.

Re: Cab Lights
Ratty69 if I had a die and a press big enough I would buy new skins and stamp them. I talked to a guy who is a retired tool anddie maker, who has made presses and benders and dies of all kinds who said it would be a nightmare if you didn't already have the equipment to do it. He also said the press would have to be huge to do it right

Re: Cab Lights
Maybe if enough of us asked for them one of the company's that make replacement panels would start. I didn't know that some of the trucks came with them until I bought this one.

Re: Cab Lights
The '71 Cheyenne I am working on came with roof markers. I found these LED replacements on Amazon. Smoke colored with yellow light.

Re: Cab Lights
I have been checking the SPID codes and what they mean, one I don't understand is code E81. It says "Pick Up Box Floor Board" the problem I have is my truck doesn't have a bed and I can't find the model number. The truck is a 1970 does anyone know where to look?

Re: Cab Lights
Got it! I took all the other codes off the sticker and never saw the model number. I could read it all but the first number. I thought it was a 2 but the VIN says the truck is a 1/2 ton. One of the options included is heavy duty front springs, would the VIN and the Model ever differ?
I did however get the code I was looking for, the truck is a long bed Fleetside. I can't wait to get started on this truck, this place has been a lot of help, Thanks. Skip

Re: Cab Lights
Thanks
LMC has the complete "Roof Marker Lamp", you can get the assembly or a kit that has all 5 or any part of the lights you might need. Skip

Re: Cab Lights
Mine is a c10 with cab lights, my dad had a c30 when I was a kid with them. Neither of them are cheyennes. But it wasn't part of a trim package either.
