What do you guys think is the best year?
Most desirable, and why?

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
Obviously, this is about personal opinions. I prefer the 67s, as I happen to like the smooth fenders (no side lights), the small window, and the sloping front edge of the hood.
On the negative side, you end up with drum brakes, six-lug wheels, and that big foot-rest they call a hand brake.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I agree, I think its more of a personal opinion. A lot is, what someone had when they were younger, or what Dad or Grandpa had, and that heavily influences what you like. I like all 67-72 C-10s. However, I think the most popular I hear on a daily basis is the 72.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
If you want to talk stock to stock '72 had all the bells and whistles and the last year of the body style. One would then say that this was the most "perfected" model, but again, it's all personal choice, their might be some who prefer the smaller rear window, or some that didn't want power steering. I like my '72 but in saying that, it's also not stock, so upgraded brakes, motor, suspension, trans could all be done to a different year with the same end product. Completely original 67-72's are so few and far between now that this argument is an impossible one to answer.

67 SWB Fleetside with the "panoramic cab rear window" is my choice. I've got a 68 but would like to not have the side markers.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
For style, it's always been the 67 for me. Small window cabs just look cool. No side markers to take away from the clean lines... but for the most part they had jack squat for options. It's difficult to find a highly optioned 67.
For "driveability" the 71/72's were likely the best as they were much more likely to be optioned with A/C PDB, autos, trim packages, etc, all the crap we're used to today. Put a 67 clip on a loaded 72 and you'd have the perfect truck

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
The more I get know of these trucks, I think the best looking cab is the 67, with small window and all painted the same color(no two tone). Reason why is because I like how the grill has that solid, understated look and when it's all painted one color it has a continuity to it that flows with the lines of the rest of the cab that I really like. The small window just has that old school hot rod look.
That being said, all of the 67-72 trucks are cool. I would be happy with any of these years as there are certain characteristics about each one that I like. But here's an example of the cab and paint scheme I like:

Everyone knows the '69 is superior. Followed closely by '70.
Big on the hood. Right where it should be.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
Personally I like the side marker lamps on the 68. My choice would be the 71 body, fully optioned, with a 68 front clip

If GM would have started the front disc brakes on these trucks from the factory in 1969... the 69-70 Chevrolet trucks would be the best trucks EVER to roll out of an assembly plant. Gary

68, with disc brake, and 5 lug conversion. I like the big window, and I like the side reflectors.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I like the simple styling of the '67 and '68. There is just something extra nostalgic about an all original '67/'68 that I just don't feel with the '69-'72. That being said, I still love all years from '67-'72.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
For me it was the Delux two tone option in 71/72 that really drew me to this shape/style, so thats what it had to be.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
71 first for me. I like the egg crate grille and old style door panel compared to the 72. I also prefer rear view on the roof, not the glass. However, 67/68 front end is growing on me more with the slant hood. 69/70 used to be my favorite - liked that center bar grille with CHEVROLET on it. So I LOVE THEM ALL - except 72 - hate the armrests and that mirror. Of course that's what I currently have. Trade anyone? Favorite GMC would be 71 because that's what I had and it drove and rode like a dream. Felt like both my Pap's were in the truck with me. Check out the link below for comparison.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
Here are my thoughts...
67/68... are the best in my opinion. And 67 taking the top notch. Then 71/72 Then 69/70 And to prove my point... there are more 71/72 front ends put onto 69/70's then 69/70 put onto 71/72's Furthermore... There are way more 71/72's running around with 67/68 front ends swapped on than 67/68 trucks with 71/72 front end... BOOM *Mic Drop*

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
The nice thing about these trucks is that we can mix and match every thing. Just read through the build section. (very few put back to stock)/ I like making my truck fit my taste. I can enjoy the hard work that goes into the customization and get an idea of what i want to do to mine.

67 for me. First year, love the slant hood, small window, and only communists don't like buddy buckets! (Totally kidding about the communist thing, been watching too much Grand Tour)

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
My favorites for lower trucks would be the 67-68 nose. My favorite for 4x4 trucks would be the 71-72 style. Im not a big fan of the 69-70 grills. Even though I own a GMC, overall four eyes are my least favorite noses
But all of that being said, Ive seen plenty of all styles (even 69-70, and four eyes haha) in all different modes that break the "mold" that I like most.

For me the 1972s I like the door panels. And it's the last year.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
It's certainly personal opinion. Cosmetically, '67 by far, but '71/2 had so many more available options and trim goodies that it's hard to ignore. I mean, in '67 big block, Longhorn, A/C, and (I think) 2-tone paint weren't available - to me those are all options that should be on the "quintessential" '67-72 pickup.
