1971 Chevy Cheyenne Super....Value???
I'm new here and looking for help. I'm looking for a older chevy truck 55-57 or 67-72 particularly. Is there anything in particular that I should look for? I am aware of the rust spots on the 67-72. How much is this truck worth. I don't have all the info on it. I do know it is a long bed auto and is if fair condition. It has quite a few dings and dents on the body. Any info is heplful, thank you.

I'm not looking to spend that kind of money. I'd really like a SWB but this truck is pretty nice considering the options and it's local.

A good running truck with OK paint and a few rust spots goes for $3k or so.....One with maybe a little more rust goes for around 2k.....beaters that neither run good or look good go for $1k or less.
Nice ones with a good body and paint, nice interior, and good drivetrain go from $4k and up. Those are just some basic guidelines.....if you can get some pics of the truck and post them on here, i'm sure someone can give you a good estimate on price.

"I'd really like a SWB........" Then you should hold out for a SWB. It took me two years of searching locally to find one that I could actually afford (71 Custom Deluxe Short-Fleet).....although it will cost me PLENTY to get her right again. During my search I found about 100 LWB's that I could have bought, and that required a bit less work. But now that the old hag is here and showing signs of rejuvination...I am so glad I waited. |

Welcome to the board from Tennessee, you should find a good clean truck down your way. And I concur, hold out and get one you really like. The more options...the better

I don't think this one is worth the asking price of $2k. It needs a new front clip(fenders are dented pretty good and hood has some hail damage and the grill is broken). The bed floor is rusted with holes. The passenger door is dented from a bind between it and the front fender. The A/C is gone.

There was a guy on here a few week's back from Lubbock that was selling a nice 72 chevrolet long bed. It was a dark green color. He goes by the boardname sameyrasmea72. The price seemed fair and the truck was in very good shape. Maybe someone remembers the truck, I think it was around $4500, I am not sure whether it sold or not. You might hook up with him or shoot him a pm. I think he may even have a line on some others.
