Rubber trailing arm bushing install

I picked up a nice set of trailing arms cheap on Craigslist. I cleaned them up and had them powdercoated. I now need to install new bushings and want to use the OEM style. Does it matter what side I press them in from? I didn't pay attention when I removed the old ones. Also Can I install them myself or should I take them to a shop with a press? Thanks!

Re: Rubber trailing arm bushing install

They can only go in one way on each arm. The bushing steps up to a larger size. You can take them in to be pressed in if you want. But I think the safer way is to a loaner tool ball joint press at Oreillys, autozone. Who ever does it, make sure they have spacers on the ends around where the bushing goes or it will smash them in.
