1969 C 10 gas tank
Had to replace my tank and sending unit . Float on the sending unit had a hole in it and the whole thing was a rusty mess . No wonder my gauge quit and my carb was full of crud/rust . Had to enlarge several mounting holes to get fuel neck centered in cab hole . Didn't help that UPS bent the tank some . First thought my new gauge wasn't working as it took 6 gallons for the needle to move off empty . It's working fine now . Just thought this may interest someone on here .

Re: 1969 C 10 gas tank
If rust was an issue with your old tank, it makes sense to assume the fuel lines are rusty too. Did you replace those? Did you get the carb rebuilt/cleaned?
No idea why the gauge wasn't working at first. |

Re: 1969 C 10 gas tank
Didn't think about replacing my fuel lines . I did turn the motor over and catch the gas in a clear jug until it was clean . Yes , the carb was cleaned and rebuilt . Drove my truck about 20 miles this morn . After I put a few more miles on it I'm gonna replace the fuel filter . I'm hoping it'll look good . THANKS for your input .
