Re: When rusted parts from 1972 get you down......
Original U bolts were the culprit this time, putting on shock relocation brackets, so they had to come off. Working on these trucks is allot of fun, but man sometimes I wish things would just come apart like I want them to. O well I guess after 45 years it's probably the norm and doesn't hurt to replace a few things.

It looks like you at least have a hoist to work with for chassis stuff.

Pretty sophisticated, drinking a cold one from a GLASS, LOL. I can't seem to get mine from the can to a glass, too intent on popping the top and enjoying the results.

180 cold beer in that bad boy, I've got Shock Top Belgiun White on tap at the moment, I've ran a few kegs of Coors Banquet through it.

Re: When rusted parts from 1972 get you down......
I agree i do to.
Those little pop top cans don't hold much beer.lol Those u bolts can be a bear if your not prepared and never been removed before. Back when i made the kids 67 five lug I bought a rear from a local fella. The truck was sunk up too it's axle. We struggled for a few hours with minimal hand tools too get that sucker out. After it was done I figured it would've been easier too just hack saw the u bolts off.

Re: When rusted parts from 1972 get you down......
I'm going to be buying this unit shortly to part out so I'm guessing if I think things are rusted on, on my '72 this is going to teach me a lesson or two or three.
