Question about clutch Z-bar mounting stud
Quick question...
Does anybody know of a cheap replacement for the rubber "O-ring" that is on the engine side z-bar mounting stud for the clutch bell-crank? (V-8 and SM465 manual transmission) Mine is disassembled right now, and once I cleaned it up everything looks to be in great shape, but the rubber piece that goes in the groove on the engine side ball-stud disintegrated when I first pulled it apart. For those who know what I'm talking about, I'm calling it an O-ring, but it's more of a flat ring of rubber. You can see a pic of it in this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=709642 Any thoughts are appreciated.

Re: Question about clutch Z-bar mounting stud
I believe that the rubber washer comes with the ball. Most of the aftermarket balls don't have the rubber on them, they have the groove cut but no rubber washer. I did a quick search on Ebay (GM clutch ball) a new one came up with the rubber piece for $14.00 but it may not be the correct one for your application.

Re: Question about clutch Z-bar mounting stud
Its really just a grease seal. You could slice a sliver of heater hose or a faucet washer or something and use it.
It's nice to have something in between the block and bar for some cushioning too.
