I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
.... instead of lowered.
Is there anyone else here that feels the same way, or am I all alone on this one? |

Stock height or 2in lift for me! I guess it all depends on what the truck is used for and how much $ you have to spend! I think I will ask SANTA for a Low and High ride this year. For now I am happy with my stock height 69 K/10. Heck I like them all.

I'm not into the low rider deal either. Stock or a fuzz lower is good for me!
It's still a free country! |

Re: I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
I'm there. Why ruin the suspension of a well-designed truck just to make it ride like a car? Buy the car -- if you don't have the least idea how to use a truck -- you shouldn't be in one.
Every time I see a post where some whiner is griping that now that he's lowered his rig, his headers scrape, I just laugh.

I like both but both of my trucks ride on the high side.

Re: I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
My 69 and 15 are both lifted. That's how I like them but they are both 4x4's also. I've got a 72 2wd to rebuild some day that may get lowered just a little.

I prefer stock, but appreciate how good these trucks look lowered and raised.

I'm not a fan of laying frame but appreciate the skill that is put in to make them that way. I figure that I can adapt some of the hardware to update my ride (so I can make it my own).

I like all kinds. I think a square body crewcab long bed on 37's is a piece or art. But earlier body styles I prefer stock or low.

Re: I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
I'm with you on this. I could never get into the lowered look no matter how popular it becomes. Seems like we may be in the minority though... even the logo for the site is a lowered truck. I've accepted the fact that I'm a weirdo and I can live with that. Oh well... to each his own.

Stock factory designed ride height unless it's a 4x, then no more than a 4'' lift

Re: I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
I know it's my opinion... but...
IF you can't load your truck to 'capacity' + and drive it normally without hitting the ground, it's not a truck. BUT I do understand, the need for a lower tail gate, it's just more convenient getting the piano in it during a move. what I need i guess is a motorized tailgate to lift things...

Re: I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
I prefer stock height and suspension but can live with slightly lowered. I detest cutting a frame and installing a C-notch. I never even heard of it until I found this place.
I just can't understand why anyone would look all over this country to find a 45 year old truck that's still in good shape and then cut the frame up. Last edited by garyd1961; 05-04-2017 at 07:43 PM. |

I prefer the look of a lowered truck, but prefer driving lifted trucks.

Re: I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
I still use mine for a bit of yard work, picking up things for around the house etc so stock works well for me. I also like to see a truck that looks similar to when it came off the line. Reminds me of being young.....

Re: I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
I can't afford a car. But I got a 72 Blazer I wrecked so I rebuilt it a 2wd and will make my "car" out of it. You see I pay a hefty child support as well as day to day stuff. I also have a 70 swb 4x4 with 7" lift so I have one of each.

Re: I like Chevy trucks riding a little bit on the high side ....
I like them lowered a bit, makes it easier to lift stuff over the bed rails. My c10 sits a couple inches lower than stock... but ever since my wife got her Wrangler I've had the itch to get a 4x4 to do some trails with her.
