Frame damaged: would a C-notch cover this area?
The frame on my 1965 GMC short box is badly rusted, right in the spring perch area. Fresh metal will be welded in soon, but at this point, I'm wondering if it's not the right time to integrate a C-Notch in there? Would the C-Notch cover the repaired section?

From the littel I can see in the picture I would say no to maybe depending on how thin the frame is once you clean it up and how long the C notch is. Frame looks pretty rusty.

Very rusty. These trucks (and good replacement frames) are rare in my area, salt and snow would eat right through them. Gotta work with what I have...

Here is a frame you could probably get shipped to you.

The frame will not be replaced, but repaired.
