Anybody seen this place around?!

Posted on our local classifieds website offering to purchase and bring trucks back, super coy, seems like a total scam. Would be interesting to see if this place is still around or he's full of it.

Re: Anybody seen this place around?!

Took me 10 emails back and forth and I finally figured out he's offering to go down and pick up a truck for you and bring it back to Canada.

His ad stated NOTHING about that, it was literally "This place isn't a myth, no tire kickers, no asking for mummies money, I do my own shipping, these trucks are EXPENSIVE".

Trucks resting in a pasture age very rapidly and harshly. I used to hunt down cars and truck during the 1980's and 1990's. Vehicles out in the weather fare poorly. Except in the dry, desiccated southwest.

I spoke to him once. He couldn't help, because I was looking for NOS & clean OEM. That and I was even more ignorant than today. But he sure has an impressive stock.

This. They rust from the bottom up and the rodents have a party.

Vehicles in the desert are the only ones that age well.

I see this type of storage all the time in Michigan, and the people selling them think they are sitting on a gold mine. sun, snow, tall grass, spells rotted. all original they say , and I say yup even the rotted frame is original.

Re: Anybody seen this place around?!

If they have been sitting that long you can bet they are priced to keep.

Re: Anybody seen this place around?!

Heck even AZ trucks aren't a total safe bet as far as rust is concerned. Just bought a '67 GMC from AZ that wears it's plates dating back to 1972 and it still has rocker rot and pinholes in the cab corners because of the Arizona mud setting in there and getting wet and festering!!!

Re: Anybody seen this place around?!

Dean at the truck farm was advertising on Craigslist and eBay not long ago. He always seems to have that hard to find merchandise we all look for. His prices can be at the top of the scale but seems to be good to deal with. He has a website under truck farm Kodak tn if I remember right

Re: Anybody seen this place around?!

I gotta say ...Not one of you have been there ,But his trucks are junk ,over priced , rotting away , need frame repairs ,etc, etc ... The man has been collecting ,Buying and selling these 67-72 chevy/gmc trucks since they were new and has over 70 "parts trucks " and dozens of running driving complete trucks for sale along with buildings full of parts and the nicer trucks are kept garaged . It seems that he knows exactly what he is doing and has been for many many years . He doesn't have one project truck or even a dozen ,

He has multiple dozens ! So maybe you know of someone else who's storing multiple dozens of 50 year old trucks indoors in climate controled buildings spritzing wd 40 thru misters in the ceiling to protect that precious metal ?

I didn't think so ...

That's one of their killers. It's so dry that it bakes and dries the crap out of the drip rail seal, which in turn crumbles, cracks, and falls out, then water (the few times it does rain) is free to run down inside of the cab.

Extreme situation, but it happens.
