Posi for Ford 9"
I'm not a technical guy so here is my question. Why can I only find a posi for a 8.8 Ford rear end? Another question is does the length need to be really changed on the Ford 9 from a stock 71 Chevy rearend? To be clearer I'm going from stock Chevy to Ford 9" rear on my 71 SWB Fleetside. Thanks for input and if there are good prices out there for posi's let me know.

the ford 9 inch came in a lot of different widths, i used one out of a 78 ford truck so i had to narrow mine a little, do a search and you will find some web site that have all the years and widths. Look at Eaton for a posi for the 9 inch.

Currie enterprises is where I got mine. Drum to drum delievered was ~$2400 Not cheap but VERY nice.

The old rears out of the lincolns are the right length to match these trucks i think.I don't know this for sure but it's what I been told.

67-70 model Ford truck rearend is what I'm using>56 1/4"

I already have the rear end and am not sure how to tell what it came out of. It had been sitting in a junk pile of someone I know and he gave it to me FREE! I could not find any way to identify the rear end. How can I find out and if I can't what do I do? I measured mine and it and it seemed there was only a 1/2" difference in length, but I may have measured wrong. How should I go about measuring?

the way you measure is you take a tape measure streach it out go from the outside of the drum on one side to outside of the drum on the other side
