Lost old pics. What started my obsession!!

I thought these old pictures were lost... These were taken sometime around 1983.. My very first 1972 3/4 ton 4X4 and in the background one one shot is my 2nd 72. It was a 1 ton flatbed with 12' deck. WES

Thumbs up Re: Lost old pics. What started my obsession!!

cool pics Wes. i used to own the twin to your truck. it was a two owner truck but belonged to our local irrigation district and was pretty well worn/beat when i got it-had to put in a new motor, trans, axles and suspension. after paint and interior it was a sweet truck. my obsession started in 69 when my parents bought a 69 CST short fleet 2 wheel drive, i was in 5th grade but always said i'd get a 67-72 when i got old enough.

Re: Lost old pics. What started my obsession!!

You still used to fish back then?? I see the truckhad been painted...no fender emblems or holes. Are you sure that wasn't a '71? Not to alter history, but I'm lookin' at the mirrors (could have been changed). My first 4wd Chevy was a '71 K/20 Custom Medium Olive farm truck

Hey Jerry, you didn't have the twin, you had a triplet

Ok, well mine was Medium Blue... and a K/10... and a Custom Deluxe... and no Salmon. But still pretty close

Very cool
Many of us got hooked on these trucks when we were younger.
My first one was a 72 black 1/2 ton bought when I started my company
This is with my second one 72 c30 dump. 1987
Both were wrecked throughout the years

I am very sure it's a 72. LOL. I had to replace the front fender because I hit a tree with it out cutting firewood... That's why I bought the flat bed in the background. It was a 72 also..

Re: Lost old pics. What started my obsession!!

I'm sure you would know. My first K/20 suffered front right fender damage at the hands of the classic full-float inner bearing wetting the brakes making them grippy thing. Early one morning going over a steel truss bridge with a wet wood deck the man that lived on the other side was walking across the road as I got to the far end. I touched my brakes and she went diagonal on me with no wiggle room. So, Crunch! on the side of the bridge. I don't do things like that any more

Hey Eric, was the truck painted black when you got it or did you do that? Nice truck. You look 30 years younger!! I asked about the paint because I noticed what you run now is white and that '72 was white before the black. Older and wiser? Just wondering.

I think George should have left this one alone

There, and my neighbors had a big brick masonry business that did all the schools. There was always a K/20 in the driveway when I was over there playing in the evening and weekends. First was a '65 K/20, then a '68 K/20. Both medium green (called light green those years) with black wheels with the lug nuts and rim painted silver and a yellow snow plow (when mounted). I loved the K/20s ever since
