fuel door option?

Has anyone ever considered using one of these fuel doors? I am putting a rear tank and have been looking for a fuel door that would be easy to install and be easy to fill. I saw these for sale quite cheap the door has the backing housing to support the fuel filler and it is angled just not sure if its angled enough.

They are Jeep JK fuel doors, there are many aftermarket companies that make them so the price is cheap and my truck will be black when painted so it will blend in pretty good. Think I'll get one and try it out on my old bedside first.

I just relocated my fuel tank from inside the cab to under the bed. I also thought it was ridiculous to only have a bed mounted fuel filler. I searched everywhere to find a side fill door...no good, including the one you have pictured. The angle to too deep to go under the bed. So I went to the wrecking yard and found a donor vehicle fuel filler door and neck. I cut the entire unit out of an '88 gmc. Just make sure to cut plenty of excess around the filler door to allow for your body guy to trim appropriately. You will also need to measure how far behind the driver side wheel well (around 6 inches) since you it needs to be precisely between the bed under rails.

I was looking for something that I wouldn't need to have welded in, not that it would be such a big deal but all the body work of getting ready for paint is something I'd like to avoid.

what kind of angle is the one you got? do you have pictures
