Insurance

I was given a 71 c50 that's in wonderful shape for its age. The plan is like most others are doing. shorten it, throw a bed on it, and take it to shows and stuff. I have insurance through progressive on the rest of my vehicles. I don't think they will insure the 50 though. Can someone point me in the right direction when it comes to insurance?

Re: Insurance

I have Haggerty on my '70 Camaro and have been happy with them. I will be adding my newly acquired '70 C20 soon too.

Re: Insurance

Yeah, I got a quote from them online. If I did it right they are only $140 a year. Not sure if I did it right or not since they don't have a C50 listed. I used the military option and typed in Chevrolet c50

Re: Insurance

I go through Thomas J. Woods Insurance Agency up here in MA. I have a '61 GMC 5000 flatbed (24,000GVW). It is registered Commercial, classified as a medium truck. $511 for the year.

Try an insurance agency that's locally owned, probably have a better chance at getting it insured.

Most classic car insurance companys will insure most anything for an agreed $ value. The more the value the more you pay.
I have my C10 insured for 26K and it's only 220 per year. But there are restrictions on using it, like you can't use it for your daily driver, it has to be in a garage or at least a carport at night (so trees don't fall on it).....
