Wiper arms and blades
Ok, I have the Newport 2 speed, wiper motor installed and the transmission arms installed. the next battle will be the wiper blades. I have the original arms and have no objection to re-using, but I have also purchased new shiny ones. The problem is I cannot see how to attach the blades to the arms, so I'm stumped.
I ordered the blades and arms from LMC.

Re: Wiper arms and blades
Sorry, I can't help on the wiper arms, but I'm hoping when you get it all figured out you can review how the Newport motor install went and how well it actually works.

Re: Wiper arms and blades
Smack me and call me stupid, but I am almost 99.99% sure our trucks didnt come with the adjustable donkey erector set lookin wiper arms. They were just the straight, chrome stamped arms.

Re: Wiper arms and blades
The Newport motor went in as advertised, Simple straight forward bolt up to the 3 existing holes. My hands are big and I needed my wife to help hold and start the nuts in the cowl area. It took more time to disassemble the transmission arms and unbolt the old unit than it did to install the new unit and re-connect everything up. The motor comes mounted with the transmission bracket to bolt directly to the pivot bracket on the transmission shafts. (reuses your original nut).
The wiring it SUPER simple. The unit has 4 wires, which connect directly to marked terminals on the switch. The red power wire connects to your wire coming off the fuse block. Although they provide a black ground wire, the body the motor will serve as a ground as well BUT I CONNECTED THE GROUND WIRE AS WELL) Red (Power) Blue (park) Yellow (low speed) White (high speed) Black (Ground) When you order, they will ask you if you wish to use the factory OWM dash knob or not. IF you choose to use your OEM knob, they will add a standoff shaft so you can install your original knob on the shaft. Fits like a glove in the original hole with the factory (D) slot. Of all the parts I've installed on this truck this was one of the easiest.

Re: Wiper arms and blades
The new wiper arm blades you got from LMC are a slip and click style. They ride onto a flat end wiper arm and there is a little metal nipple close to the end rail of the arm which clicks and locks onto the new blade housing. On your old adjustable arm, with screwed on cam piece, it has the "U" shaped saddle tip that accepts the roll, hook and click type. They are incompatible. Does your original arms have the little metal nipple close to the tip where the adjustable extension screws into? Simply unscrew and detach the extensions and put them in your junk drawer and slip n click the new blades. Be sure to set your motor and have the wiper arm cams to the "bottom of the windshield" position when you reattach the arms so you dont have to pry them off again and scratch the beautiful paint on your cowl causing you to cuss and kick the dog upside down.

Re: Wiper arms and blades
I don't know what the wiper arms in the top pic are but throw them in the trash, the LMC ones are the ones you need, just clip the blades on them and pull and it sets them.

Re: Wiper arms and blades
Ok after working with a very good NAPA friend, the replacement Napa wipers are the exact same and have the same bracket to use. According to him the pressure from the arm holds the blade to the arm along with the J hook clip. I installed then and they work great. The extra round ceramic attachments are angle adjusters that are used to correct or change the angle of the blade
