Cleaning up the firewall????

Need little help here trying to clean up my firewall I like the clean look but there's 1000s of holes in it well maybe less than 50 but still I don't wanna weld up a hole that don't need to be welded by the way I'm plan on going with a vintage air kit so I know I got get some sheet metal to cover the three big holes what gauge metal should I get? Here are some pics I know the PO had screwed some holes in it so not sure what's stays or goes any help very much appreciated thanks

Here is what I did. It's kind of up to you on how many holes to keep. I filled the a/c holes, and the hole for the fan motor. You'll have to add one for the drain, and you also need a wire for the heater control valve ( I'm running this one inside my other wiring harness, just had to lengthen it...). On the drivers side I kept the wiring harness block hole, the e-brake holes, the brake hole and bolt holes, and the stock location for the column. I kept one hole in the trans tunnel on the drivers side about an inch in diameter. I had to add a 1.5 inch hole on the tunnel, passenger side, for the wiring for the LS. I then had to cut for my heat/air manifold I am using for the vintage air. I'll show you a pix of before I added the manifold. It's kind of up to you what to keep/get rid of. I have everything I need though...

saw this at a car show yesterday. so simple but i never thought about simply bolting a plate on the interior side of the firewall. great if you have plans in the future to reinstall the factory parts, and actually doesn't look that bad.

Gen lv vintage air comes with a blankoff for that .

I know our trucks are very different but I've removed the original firewall and put in my own. I'd rather start with a clean slate and since you won't need all those holes anyway. Wiring can come from underneath as well as hoses. Just my .02 worth.
