Hedman Hedder problems.
So, I have a 68 C10 but we believe its on a 72 frame, has a 350 SB and a auto turbo 350. We ordered some Hedmans for it, as the older headers were falling apart, so we got the Hedmans- 69090, and they hit the lower control arm on the driver side. We did some research, everything pointed to needing 69092. So we got the 69092s today, and they have the exact same problem, hitting the control arm. Now we think this truck might be originally a V6, and that the motor mounts are probably in the wrong holes and sitting to far forward for the V8 350... So if this is true, is there any other headers to fit this or anyway around this problem other than moving the motor back or denting the headers? Thanks!

Re: Hedman Hedder problems.
Mine were really close on my 1970 C10. If it's just barely touching I would just knock a little ding in the header and keep going. This is just my opinion but I doubt a small ding would make any difference in the running of the motor.

Re: Hedman Hedder problems.
I had the exact issue with a cheaper set of tubes on my 69. They were too close to the lca mount to bolt up. They also were laying on the engine stand. I wasn't about to cut on the frame or beat up the tubes so I went back to ram horns. I guess in order to get a decent fitting set you have to spend big bucks. I don't race anyway so I'm all done with headers.

Re: Hedman Hedder problems.
You will also have this problem if your engine block has been decked a considerable amount

Re: Hedman Hedder problems.
Got a set of Hedmam ceramic coated headers with cpp engine perches fits great. Looked good too for a couple short trips then they started developing slight rust after only about 50 miles

Re: Hedman Hedder problems.
It hits so much that it won't bolt up right, and on the set of headers the came with the truck it punched a pretty good hole in the tube so I'd have to dent it pretty good to do that which I hate to do to a brand new set. I'll probably end up moving my motor since it's apparently in the wrong spot anyways to solve it all. And yeah not much of a racer either I just like how headers sound lol

Re: Hedman Hedder problems.
The ones in my truck are mid-length Hedmans for c20 or actually, jeep 350 conversion. They fit so good I bought a new set and put the old ones in a box in the rafters.
