Any salvage yards for our trucks ?
I need some odd bits and pieces that would only come on a truck I think. Any reputable yards out there?
Also just out of curiosity, has anyone ever seen a balancer put on with black silicon ? Thought maybe a hack way to fix a front seal? But that wouldn't work. Surly it wouldn't have been to make room for a loose balancer/crank snout ? that would be nuts right? Just curious. Thanks Charlie |

Re: Any salvage yards for our trucks ?
Well, I have seen some weird crap done by previous owners. It wouldn't surprise me what someone might have done.
There is not much in the way of specific year yards out there. Depending on what you need, much is reproduced so you just need to do some Google searching or check out the companies (like Classic Industries and such). You could become a supporting member on this forum and post up a WTB ad in the classified area. You can also search the years specific area in the Classified Area. Craigslist is another place to search. Look for folks parting out a truck.

Re: Any salvage yards for our trucks ?
pretty common to use a little sealer on the inside of the damper to stop seepage past the keyway. Not usually silicone , but I guess any port in a storm
