Re: New bed coming together
Thanks guys in the light of day it looks even better. So pleased with how it came out. I used a satin Spar varnish, 5 coats sanded with 320 lightly between each coat. I like the look of the satin finish with the polished stainless hardware and super wet looking clear coat. The combination is nice!

Re: New bed coming together
Did you buy the wood pre-cut or did you do it yourself. Really looks great, I to like the satin finish. Nice job.

Re: New bed coming together
That looks great, when I get to that point I think I might have to hook my little trailer to my daily and make a trip to OK City to visit my cousin. At least the saved shipping costs could offset part of the gas for a trip.

Re: New bed coming together
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Rear fenders and running boards are original sheetmetal, everything else is brand new from Mar K and went together very nicely.

Re: New bed coming together
Like everyone else says, it looks great.
I'll be starting my wood finishing VERY soon and have been debating buying the red oak offered by the Car and Truck Shop near me (no shipping charges) OR buying from Mar-K and getting white oak or quarter sawn oak? What brand & color of stain did you use? What brand of spar varnish or polyurethane?

Re: New bed coming together
Hey Dan like I said I used red oak from Mar K fit perfectly no adjustments needed I'm still amazed it all fit together so well. No stain, just Minwax Satin Spar poly 320 between each coat lightly, 5 coats
