Lowering shocks and springs

I currently have Belltech lowering springs and shocks,
I think they suck, and they are way too springy. It slike the rear ones arent there at all, and the bed hops and rattles over bumps.

My question is, how low can I go with just shocks and springs
with 4 wheel drums? I want something with a nice firm ride
and with about a 4" Drop. Can I do this, or do I have to go with drop spindles, and disk brakes?

With a 4" drop in the rear, do you have to notch the frame?

No you do not have to notch the frame with a 4" drop... In fact early classic says you don't even have to have a notch with a 6" drop.... The only thing IMO is you won't be able to load very much at all in your truck with a 6" drop and no notch.

I bought the Early Classic Enterprises 3/5 set up with new springs, KYB shocks, adjustable panhard bar, & shock mounts. It may not be as low as you want, but it's still load rated at a 1/2 ton and doesn't ride like a ferry boat.

gr8scott51 that is an awesome description of the ride I am experiencing!! How much can I expect to pay for that setup you described??

I can also grab my bed with my hands and it rattles. The only place it is coming from is the shocks. If I hole the panhard bar and shake the truck it is quiet, and the panhard is not loose.
