Walker Exhaust pipe
I need a Walker exhuast pipe for my 1966 inline 250. Every parts store tells me they cannot get it. This is from the manifold to muffler. If anyone can get one or give a phone number to get one I am desperate but not to the extent of paying someone on ebay 350.00 plus.

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
A "walker exhaust" is basically a semi-rigged flexible tube , right? Summit sells em. But why do you want something like that?

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
I want an oem pipe that walker serviced in the beginning, one piece of pipe to muffler then tail pipe. I have a tail pipe in my posession now just need the the front pipe to complete oem set up. Summitt says the have one on the website but they do not. This not for any type of racing set up, just a plain old 250/ auto.

l79m20 is looking for one of their pre-bent exhaust pipes. I believe it is either #48111 (for 127" wheelbase) or #46132 (for 115" wheelbase) according to an old Walker catalog I have here. |

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
Ya, looks like every online source is out of stock. You may need a muffler shop to make one.
Part is WALKER 48111.

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
Thats correct 48111 appears to be the number needed .As a young man I remember going to the parts stores and there would be various prebent exhaust pipes hanging from the ceiling for different vehicles. Automotive builders seem to retool every year now but not so years ago and that why so many 60-66 truck parts interchange. Thanks all for your insight! Oh fo the good old days!!!

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
autozone.com has both pieces; the front pipe is part number 48111 and its $75, the tail pipe is part number 44144 and its $42. I have used both of these on my truck and they have lasted just as long as any other exhaust pipe i have had. rockauto.com actually has the exact same tail pipe for $27.

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
Try a different muffler shop. I had purchased the Walker pieces but wasn't satisfied with the way the bends looked. They had a lot of ridges.
Stopped by my local muffler shop. He had a "recipe book" that told him where to bend some new pipe. He bent both pieces and it fit great. Best of all, his prices were cheaper than the Walker pipe from Autozone. He handed me the pipes and I did the installation myself at home. I did end up making the down pipe shorter so the exhaust would tuck up closer to the frame but that was no big deal. Here's a link to some pics on my website. 1965 short stepside.

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
Thanks Rocknrod. My motivation is to help others. The secondary benefit would be for any insurance claim. (Hopefully never.)

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
That's the same muffler I used. I've had people tell me that the sound reminds them of a truck from their past- like a dad's or uncle's truck they liked. Sound brings back memories I guess.

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
66 chev I am unable to chase part number 48111 here in kansas at the local autozone, if you can get one I will gladly pay you for it and shipping as well to my home, if you would be so inclined. where in Kentucky are you located as I have some family in Illinois. Lugnutz those random picks of the exhuast system mounting are incredidble and Just what the doc ordered. Thanks so much for the info. If you have the info for the correct bends for my application 250/auto pg I would be intrested in having them.

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
Wow! That shipping price is high. I would think you could get a muffler shop to make one much cheaper.

Re: Walker Exhaust pipe
I agree but wanted the real deal if I could get it, the problem is they won't tell you what warehouse the part is coming out of soI dont have a chance to come up with an idea to pick it up rather than ship. One major problem with the internet, some e businesses want to make a profit on the item and the shipping and handling. rip off but what are you going to do?
