205 transfer case shifter with 4l80e trans
Looking at swapping ls 5.3 in my 72 K5, and wanted to use a 4l80e I have, but don't want to cut the floor....thought maybe someone has done this swap and maybe knows of a custom np205 shifter linkage which would accommodate the factory shifter hole in the floor. Any help would be appreciated. ..thanks in advance

Re: 205 transfer case shifter with 4l80e trans
I did a 4l80 swap and didn't modify the floor. I was able to just heat the stock 205 shifter and bend it to work.

Re: 205 transfer case shifter with 4l80e trans
How much longer are 4L80Es? I know with a 700r4 all you have to do is shift the V8 frame mounts forward to the 6cyl position and you don't need to alter the driveshafts. I'm only experienced with doing this with a NP205 adapted (internally, so no added length) to the 700r4 and nothing changed with transfer case shifter location. This truck was a '68 K/20
