Rear drop combo
I am ready to order my lowering components for the rear end of my 71. Any information on this would be appreciated. As you all know, there are drop springs that deliver up to a six inch drop, which is the rear drop i want to achieve. Is this the way to go, or is it better to go with a combo of springs and blocks? Thanks in advance for any suggestions here.

Re: Rear drop combo
I would go as much spring as possible.
Then add rear shock relocators, drop shocks, and an adjustable panhard bar. Then if you want more low,... use lowering blocks to get there. Anything over a 5" rear drop I would use a bolt in c-notch also.

Re: Rear drop combo
Kinda what i suspected. I have found a couple of sources that sell 6 inch drop springs. I just have never used a 6 inch spring. before.

Re: Rear drop combo
I would keep as much spring as possible for ride quality so a 4" drop spring with a 2" drop block is better than a 6" drop spring.
The only thing you have to worry about with a 2" drop block is ample ground clearance so make sure you are using a wheel/tire combo that is tall enough and a U-bolt that terminates properly. Last edited by Xeen; 07-03-2017 at 11:13 PM. |
