'71 K10 GM Hubs?
Trying to determine if my '71 K10 1/2 ton with the original blue plastic twist lock hubs needs or should have a flat washer or lock washer under the 6 chrome trim ring socket head screws. Right now it has a miss match batch of rusty socket head 10-24 NF shouldered screws on one side and common slot or straight headed 10-24 NF shouldered screws on the other side. Pretty sure the socket head screws are correct but not sure about the flat washers or lock washers beneath the screw head? Currently none at all. Looked in my assembly manual and the service manual but can't seem to find the correct parts break down pic. Anyone know what is correct and original from the General? Thanks in advance,

socket head is correct. I couldn't find a breakdown looking at the factory manual but it did show a cut-away of the hub with the parts numbered. It shows there are "seals" under the heads of the screws. It calls them "retaining plate bolts & seals"

Re: '71 K10 GM Hubs?
Thanks for the reply. "One" of the socket head screws did have a small very thin cupped washer under the head. Maybe that is the "seal" you mentioned? Not sure where I can find such like that locally. May try the Fastenal store in Wichita. Sure would like to find an exploded view of the hubs with parts # break down.

Re: '71 K10 GM Hubs?
Bobby, really much appreciate the offer. Would be great if you have a full set of 12 of the cupped washers for under the socket head screws. I was able to locate the correct 10-24 NF socket head screws but no success yet with the washers. PM sent with info.

Re: '71 K10 GM Hubs?
Member BJC679 was a BIG help and FREEBIED a full set of 12 washers and a couple of extra socket head screws. The washers or seals he sent are also copper. Looks as if the "cupped" side goes up toward the underneath side of the socket head. Plan on changing them out later today and get rid of the rusted slot head screws. Another small but correct detail made right.
Thanks again to BJC679 aka Bobby,
