E3 Spark Plugs
So I have a 79 C10 and an 09 Silverado. Put new E3 plugs in the silverado after 100,000 miles and WOW. What a performance difference. Is it the E3 plugs, or the simple fact it was just falling on its face because I had the original plugs in and just put new plugs in at 100,000 miles when I should have done it sooner?
I am thinking of installing the E3 plugs in the C10 to up its performance, only 3500 miles on that motor about 375 HP Thoughts?

Re: E3 Spark Plugs
The claims they have are true, but on lawn equipment. I put a set I had in an 86 Camaro pushing some power and noticed no difference. I did pick up a couple mpg but that's because the old plugs were done for lol

Re: E3 Spark Plugs
Stick with factory AC Delco plugs. E3 is a gimmick. You were only faster because your wallet was lighter. If you want a true performance plug then switch to an iridium. When we were playing with our desert racer on the dyno we made better power with Champion Platinum than we did with the E3.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs
I would vote for the 100,000 mile plugs were EOL and you would have noticed a similar gain with new factory plugs. One problem with computer controls is they can adjust around issues and do a good job of making it seem like nothing is wrong. Might do a code check on it and see if there are any non check engine type codes about the spark plugs.

Re: E3 Spark Plugs
Similar to the above, I read years ago about the tuning on this generation of rigs (yours included). I think you are right on spec to change them at 100k. And the engineer that was talking about the computer controls said that the little adjustments made over time are not detectable. So even though the plugs/coils can degrade over time, it won't be noticeable. However, it follows that a replacement of any of those items will allow the ECU to ramp back up and take advantage, regardless of type of spark plug.
