Lowering Spring size chart
I tried searching here and on the Lowering page without any luck. I'm just finishing the rear notch to lower my 62. I need to purchase springs that will provide the correct ride height. Everything i see advertised is based on the amount it will lower the truck but doesn't provide a baseline to work from. I'm wondering if anyone has a list of the various spring dimensions once installed/compressed or can tell me what the stock height is?
Thanks |

Re: Lowering Spring size chart
There are too many spring rates and wire diameters to come up with a compressed or uncompressed length of these springs.
Plus all the other factors like big block vs small block engines, etc. The max static drop, in my opinion, would be a 3" drop spindle with a 3" drop spring. Any lower will take crossmember replacement or mods.

Re: Lowering Spring size chart
So let me simplify the question in an attempt to get a simple answer.
On a stock LWB fleetside without any suspension modifications. What is the dimension from the top of the trailing arm to the bottom of the frame at the spring? If i know what the stock measurement is, then i can order the correct lowering springs the first time |

Re: Lowering Spring size chart
No need to notch frame, as the pumpkin hits bed before axle to frame. Unless baged no need. But if you just run bags and schrader valve, as i have, in rear the height is adjustable. Never did say what front drop you had. Remeber the lower you go the more the axle is pushed forward. So a 1-2" block may be needed.

I'd bet your stock springs have more that 1" of sag to them now, due to age. I've seen people buy 2" drop springs and actually raise the rear of the truck. The same goes for front springs.

Re: Lowering Spring size chart
the baseline question is asked all the time and it never gets answered. There are too many variables.
