please help with 63 dash question

Hello I have a 63 short fleet that has a nice dash except the p.o. mounted gauges thru the speaker opening and cut a couple fins for the temp fitting to go thru. Question is do they make a repair panel for this ? Or should I cut a piece from a junk cab. I have access to a nice dash but heard they are a pain to remove and would hate to cut i anyway but i will if i have to.Thanks for any help

Re: please help with 63 dash question

Never seen a patch panel for a dash in the speaker area. That would have to be the most apparent area to be viewing after the repair. Remove the windshield from the donor cab and drill out all the spot welds. Same procedure for yours , then weld the replacement dash in. You'll be happier with the end result.

Thanks for the reply. I know thats the best way to go I just needed to hear it from someone else. I've done a search and it sounds more time consuming then anything.

Re: please help with 63 dash question

One more question. Could I use a battery powered saws all to cut out the area around the dash after taking the windshield out of the junk cab ? Then bring it home and use a spot weld cutter and do it right ? Thanks again
