Parking brake handle per year???

My title shows my truck is a 68. Was told by a passer by at a cruise in that my truck was a 67, because it has a factory installed swing arm type parking brake. So. Searched this site and web for an hour with no luck. Please chime in and let me know if this guy is full of poo poo. Or do I actually have a 67. Thanks in advance.
