Talking FINALLY got to the dragstrip

My friend finally drug me to the drags today to see how my truck ran.

1ST

60- 3.013
1/8- 11.478
1/4- 16.773
MPH- 93.745

I spun through most of the first sixty feet and into the first shift

2nd

60- 2.557
1/8- 10.221
1/4- 15.453
MPH- 93.958

Pedaled hard off the line and remembered to put it all the way to the floor after I had traction.

3rd

60- 2.428
1/8- 9.904
1/4- 15.13
MPH- 92.313

Had a passenger on this run, against a 10 sec rail car, didn't have to pedal much on the line.

This was the trucks maiden voyage to the strip, all in all I was very pleased with the results---keep in mind I have an open 3:08 rear end and a granny gear 4-speed, launch in second and topping out 3rd at the stripe.

Now I have a baseline for the 700r4, converter and 3:73 posi that I willbe installing at christmas

<---that was the first run, smoke and all:p

I was thinking it was pretty fast MPH for the ET, but with a granny gear 4 speed, those are excellent #'s!

383, comp 280H Edlebrock rpm and 750. I was pretty proud of the way it pulled and I know it has more if I could tune it a little better. I launched in 2nd and shifted at 6500 and trapped in 3rd at about 6000.

I forgot how much fun the dragstrip is!!!

put a 750 holley on it change your rear gear and put in a good tranny you could probably easily pull high 13's

Whats the difference from my 750 Edlebrock?? I plan on being low 13s with this motor and spraying into the 12's all while being a daily driver

way more tuneability with the holley when it comes to making power normally with a properly tuned holley you can go 3 tenths quicker. the edelbrocks are damn near impossible to tune in and get em to run perfect btw i have a 750 edel on mine right now and the new holley is sitting on the bench waiting to be put on. they are great for the street or someone that doesnt want to have to tune a carb but when it comes to getting as much power as possible you need a holley

i had a 750 eldebrock on my big block when i went to the track and made a few runs, and then i swapped to a 750 holley vacum secondarys and gained 20th of a second in just switching the carb with no tuning.
