Door seal problem
I put new door seals on my 65 but now it's really hard to shut the doors. Anyone else have this problem? If so what did you do to correct it ?

Re: Door seal problem
Common problem on just about every aftermarket weatherstripping, cars or trucks. Usually, buying the softest available helps. But, short of experimenting with every brand out there, try this:
I strategically bent the pinchweld inward slightly to allow the rubber to just touch the door. I did this during the mock-up stage before paint so I wouldn't have to worry about damaging the paint. |

Re: Door seal problem
I know it's a little late now but the absolute best solution for door weatherstripping on our C-10's is off a 2006 Honda Civic. Check out this link:

Re: Door seal problem
I used press on seals and had zero issues . Door closes solid.

Re: Door seal problem
I've used the Honda seal and most recently the press on seals from Precision. Both are far superior to glue-ons that many of us have struggled with in the past. I would get the Precision seals.

Re: Door seal problem
I have the push on ones from Brothers truck. They work great and the door shuts easy just like factory.

Re: Door seal problem
Im ordering a set from Prescott Honda tomorrow. Got my door jambs stripped and primered yesterday and dont want to use glue again.
Changed my mind and ordered a set from Brothers last night. $30 cheaper for the set. Last edited by 65chevysub; 08-21-2017 at 06:34 AM. Reason: adding text |
