RetroSound Long Beach radio review/install
Just put one of these in my 66, looks very nice and performs well.
my dash was cut for DIN radio, so i bought a DIN repair kit with the radio and it fits and looks very original to the truck. The LongBeach has great features : Bluetooth, Sirius XM , AM/FM, Iphone It works great and now I can receive and place calls via iPhone and speak thru the radio speakers and mike. I bought the retrosound front stereo single speaker and 2 kick panel 5 1/2 POdS . I am happy with the system , but will probably have to add a subwoofer in future as the bass is not strong enough for me. The music sounds pretty good if you tweak your tone settings to your cab noise while you r hauling it down the highway. The radio and speakers cost me about $750. direct from retrosound and it arrived next day. they have a good tech line to help when you get stuck. Installation was TUFF. mainly because you have to cut out the speaker pods for the speakers to fit in, and that was hell. i ended up using sheet metal hand cutter like tin snips. took a long time and was very difficult. I tried dremmel tool but it would not cut the tuff plastic. the rest of the install was fairly easy and i am happy with the install and performance of the unit. sorry no pictures as i have never been able to up load them in the past, do not know why, but i give on that. i was linking to my photo bucket, but those jerks have ruined that with the new absurd annual charge$ to link to other sites.
