Firewall Pictures

Hello Folks,

I am sending my 69 cab out for sand blasting than to body. I am trying to figure out which small screw holes are factory and which are not. This is mainly in the master cylinder area. My truck is a factory a/c truck so if you have a clean firewall you can share pics of this would help. I know the screws for the wire gutter , and column support etc. I know somewhere the screw head sticks out for the horn relay......... Perfect time to show off your firewall!

Have them shave it all lol. I worked mine to where the body lines matched up on both sides. Looks like one solid piece. Ran painless wire harness that comes out behind the motor. No wires or mess.

Looks real nice till you get to the hose clamp on the steering column. Atleast turn it so the screw part is on the bottom/hidden.

Yeah I know. Working on that. Finally found an original one and installing next week. But hey. Thanks for pointing out the flaws. Only a 50 hours in that firewall. Where pic of yours toomany??? I bet I can find some flaws or are you in pieces��

Wow ! Thanks a lot ! I had forgotten about the ebrake holes....... I've found 2 very small holes from a self tapper that do not need to be there thanks to your help.

Since you are doing the same thing as me with regards to complete disassembly........how are you addressing the 48 year old seam sealer on the joints ? I've removed what I could as it as hard and a little rust was under . Was evident GM had no primer on the bare steel. From what I understand, and maybe Special-K has an idea....... joints were heated to 200 set to allow sealer to flow between joints. Curious what everybody has done here.

I already started to scrap it off. I'll finish scrapping then wire wheel or sand the area. Spray it with primer then apply seam sealer to all the seams.
