Nice Long Bed For Sale .....

Hello!!! I have a 1986 8' dual tank long bed for sale . It is a Oklahoma bed . It had damage on the right side and I installed a new GM bedside ( 475.00 my cost ) The bed has been completely stripped and sand blasted and PPG 1791 Wash primer applied , followed by primer on the outside and rubberized undercoat on the bottom of the bed . Was going to use the bed for a restoration project , but the customer backed out Life goes on ...huh The bed is in great shape and ready for color of choice , tailgate included . I am in central Indiana , if anyone is interested in it . Am asking $1500.00 . Ty ..... jyd

I was thinking the same, but when you consider the money spent on primer, and that rubber coating underneith, with the cost of sheetmetal and labour, it probally isn't half bad...

Time you drive out to Oklahoma and buy the bed and sandblast , install a new bedside and metal prep and prime ...if it aint worth 1500 bucks I have a backhoe that will make it a new Honda hood .

I don't think anyone's trying to slam you, but rust free long boxes are commonly available around here for $600.00-$700.00. I went and looked at one the other day that came off of a 15K miles 3/4 ton (they installed a service bed) and was stored indoors for 25 years. It looked like the day it came out of the factory and the price was $600.00. As a general rule, you don't always get out of something, what you have into it. Ask me how I know.

I understand what your saying ....BUT ...this is Indiana ....rust belt of America ....good beds " ready to paint " are far and few between . Sooooooo...if someone wants a good western or southern bed ...they have to drive , which takes time and money . or they have to ship ....which cost money . My way of handling a part is , if I think the guy is to high I click on to the next part . Anyway , sorry if I sound like a p**ck .... been doing this for a long time ... jyd

I would love to have the bed but 1500 is way out of my budget and the wife would kill me. Im probibly just going to end up replacing the bedside on the one I have. What do you charge to paint a truck when all the prep work is already done? By the way, you need to clean your camera lens.

I wished I could sell it cheaper , but I can't.....my wife would kill me ...lol... I don't do pre prepped paint jobs . Over the years I have learned not to . If something goes wrong , who's to blame ? So , if I do the whole job and it dont turn out right or has probs down the road I fix it . Hope you understand . I tell everyone to prep em right and then go to Maco and have them spray it . They do nice paint jobs , it's their prep work that needs some attention . Well anyway , I better get on the 69 I am restoring ....have a nice day . By the way , what part of Indiana are you from ? If you dont mind me asking ......cya ...jyd

Oh yeah ....my lens is clean ...we think it is the 60 florecent (sp) bulbs above that do that ...works fine eveywhere else .
