where does it go??

Need some help. Still working on the project and got a question for ya.
Near the power steering unit I have a hose( see pictures ) , I need to know where does it go, It looks like a breather hose, if so where does it go?????

STILL Working on a frame up: 1987 Truck body on a 78 Blazer frame. Need cab blasted to start project. Got the cab BLASTED, Now Prep and Paint. Started to lay SOME BONDO and primer. Done, Ordering paint. Got paint, Stuff painted,Cab,Fenders, Hood more later. 9/7/2015 Got the clear coat on,now time to take one off. Started to put things back (What a nightmare) like the heating and AC stuff,inside wire harness, outside AC unit and booster, still more. May 2016, still working on the inside. Got duck work in,heating and AC. Radio (stock) in dash with after market in console later, Speaker are hooked up, Steering column is in. Getting ready to drop the cab onto the frame, Working on engine now since I have the room. Well here it is 2018, got the engine in and it runs, now I need to get the exhaust system in so I can adjust the lifters, to loud right now. Got the exhaust on now I am waiting for the break parts to come in.

I pretty sure that is your front differential vent line. The hose extends over to the core support and the top of the vent is just below the upper radiator hose.

What exactly does that do? Mine is cut off and just hanging also.

It vents the front axle housing to the atmosphere.
Cars and some 2wd pickup trucks often have a vent cap pressed directly into the axle housing like this:

But in a 4x4 application, that can let water get inside so they typically have a section of hose and/or tubing to extend the vent cap up to a higher location.
As gmachinz said, the 4x4 front diff vent cap is typically secured to the core support. And the rear axle vent is often secured to a frame crossmember or bed floor cross sill.

Replacement vent caps are readily available (if yours is missing) and would be a good idea to keep dirt and/or insects out of the vent hose.

Check the line and where it goes. My line in that location is the vent for my fuel tank that goes to a charcoal canister on the fender
