Lowered C20 16" tires sizes

Hey guys I been a part of the forum for a while just reading here and there as I have a few squarebodies. I've recently have been building an 82 C20 with a 6.2 diesel and an np833. It's a cool setup and I lowered it about 2" in the front and 4 in the rear . My question is what size tires should I run if I keep the stock 16" wheels up front and bought a set of 16x10s off wheel vintiques for the rear? The truck is obviously not fast and I don't need slicks but if I could find a set of nice street tires preferably inexpensive I'd be happy. Thanks in advance for any help. I've searched around and could not find any info on the subject .

I am no help with your question, but is that your exhaust at the bottom of the fender?

Yes it is. I can get some better shots if you want it. It sounds pretty mean.

Your problem will be load rating. Are you trying to stay legit or overlooking the capacity needs?

I would like to have a good load rating on them . I would just tow a tandem axle landscape trailer on occasion.

You won't find much variety in tire sizes if keeping the load rating.

My method is going to a known quality supplier/distributer, selecting an OE size, & seeing what other options (sizes) they might have. A 16x10 is going to be tough to find load rated rubber in a size that works well for a lowered truck.


OE wheels are 16x6. A 16x8 would offer staggered sizing & you could run a 245/75-16 out back as they are offered in pass car & light truck load ratings.
