Hello, just wanted to introduce myself. I recently purchased a 55 2nd series BBW longbed project. I was only looking for a roller but ended up with a decent project. I purchased from a very nice retired body guy. Cab corners, A piller, inner and outter roof shell has all been replaced. I think he was building a bit of a racer themed truck so it has glass fenders and the doors have been gutted. Currently it has a fresh 305 and a munci, aluminum rad, lowered I beam with power rack and tank under the bed.
I'm still trying to determine a path. was originally planning an LS3 but between cost and effort it may not be feasible for me. Also considering a dart 406 seeing it will drop right in. Suspension: the lowered I beam looks nice but the springs are straight across and is currently sitting too low and hits the fender. I didn't know if this was worth trying to sort springs. Rear has sagging lowering springs but he gave me two sets of originals. Considering putting ladder bar setup and new rear end in it. Planning on turning it into a short bed this winter. |

Welcome man. I'm new here as well. That is a sweet truck. Definitely a heck of a start. What size meats are those on the rear?

Thanks, the PO was driving it without the bed on. He had a set of 29x15 and a set of 10" . I told him to keep the 29x15's seeing I wasn't going in that direction.

Wow yeah that's crazy huge haha. I've got 275/60/15 on the rear of my 68 currently and they even rub the inner fender a little when put in a bind just right. Of course being lowered probably doesn't help.
Whoever re-did the frame and stuff on your truck looks like they did it right. All painted and everything. Looks really freakin nice.
