Take a deep breath and C to 10 - 67 hood on a 69
Ok, so I have been spending a lot of time working on my 66 Mustang lately, but I have not completely neglected the truck..
Ever since getting my 69, I have wanted to switch out the nose to a 67. I just like that whole sloped look better. Then I found out just how proud they are of the 67 hood and grille, not to mention I would also need all the trim, fenders, core support, etc... I had been watching Craigslist for a 67-68 hood, and finally found one for $50. It was rusted out at the front lip, but I would not be needing that. I took both hoods, and cut the front supports out of each one. then welded the 69 support into the 67 hood (tacked in place here) Then of course the 67-68 hood is too long for the 69-72 trucks, so I cut the front 1.5" - 2" off the hood.. (started at 1.5", then trimmed back 2 more times until it fit) Now, I have the sloped hood of a 67 on a 69.. A hood that should not be I have about 1.5 hours into this one so far.. |

Really nice job on that hood! Makes you wonder why they didn't put this hood on from the factory. Very sleek looking.

Nicely fitted roll pan doesn't hurt the sleek lines either, really slick metal work.

Definitely different and not done a lot. I don't like I've ever seen it done. Looks good. Just currious I thought the core supports where the same on 67-72 besides the hood latch.

There's a couple write-ups on doing this somewhere on the site. It's a cool change, good work.
Here's a good one: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=244455 Rg
