Buy a ls complete pull out from a rollover truck

I found a good deal on a 2015 like new Dually truck 3500 with 10K for miles.

only thing is the truck rolled over real good. motor sits crooked in the engine bay and it ripped the trans mount(rubber part) right off the trans mount.. Motor looks ok and not damaged at all.Same for trans.

Just curious if something that violent of a crash could hurt anything internally..

Don't think the G-forces of the wreck would approach the normal g-forces on the internal moving parts of the motor. If any of the accessories bound up during the wreck and the motor was still running, could have damaged something. Check the tail housing of the transmission. If the mount broke while the drive shaft was still in place, could have bent or cracked something. Check any linkages as they might be bent. Wiring connectors could be damaged if the motor shifted too much. Check the mount holes on both motor and trans. They would have been stressed during the crash.

pull the spark plugs and check for engine oil that could have leaked past the rings and filled the cylinders up if it was upside down for to long .

if you dont and try to start it it could hydro lock and break stuff .

most all of us have used a engine from a wrecked vehicle with unknown history..like stated ..look at the engine and trans mounts as well as the accessories and manifolds for damage...pull plugs for a looksee...then go for it if it checks out..

Pull all the plugs and jump it to crank over-----stand out of the way of the possible spray. After that you should be golden
