366 overheating
My 366 seems to be running way too hot. The radiator is not leaking and I don't seem to be low on coolant so I'm thinking it's likely the water pump. I can't seem to find one at my auto part store again. I found a Flow-Cooler brand one, but they want $150. I would like to find something cheaper. Does anyone know where one can be bought? Or if I'm missing an easier fix please feel free to let me know. Thanks - Brad

Re: 366 overheating
rockauto.com has them 30-100 each just pick one .
and also do thermo stats there cheep and should be done . get a infared temp gun / lazer temp gun thingy . get it up to temp and start pointing and find out were the build up is . i have found lots of pluged heater cores and defective thermo stats with this method .

Re: 366 overheating
Thank you! I will order from them. I didn't think Rockauto had 366 parts when I looked in the past. But since you said they had them I looked deeper this time and now I see that if you look up the C7000 from 1980 and up the 366 6.0 is listed. I'll also check with a heat laser and replace the thermostat as well. - Thank you
I assume the 1980 366 would use the same water pump as the 1972? |

Re: 366 overheating
I wonder if one stat is stuck (I assume it has dual stats like the 366 in my truck). If so one side of the engine should be getting way hotter than the other. With the temp gauge on one side I've wondered how that would manifest.
