Using a 63-66 frame with a 60-62 cab

Just wondering if anybody knows if the cab and box from 60-62 mounts exactly the same on the different style frame from 63-66? Thanks

They do not mount exactly the same.
Similar, but not the same.
My 65 is on a 62 frame.
The back cab mounts line up and I think the radiator support. However, the front cab mounts are further apart on the 60-62 frame. Also, for the bed, the frame on the 60-62 is wider in the rear section, so the bed mounts don't line up either. The last thing is the bumpers don't work at all.

All that said, some still do the swap to the newer frame because of the route they plan to go with suspension parts and drive train. All the upgrades can be done on the 60-62 frame, it's just easier and a little less expensive with the 63-66.
One other thing to consider is your VIN.
GMC didn't stamp the frame with the VIN, but Chevy did. So, Chevy has a frame and cab with a matching VIN.

Ok thanks, I see there is virtually nothing aftermarket for the 60-62 frames but this cab and box are too nice to pass up using so I will look into the 73+ front swap and some kind of rear end swap with the original trailing arms and a lowered coil, thanks

Yes, Mark did a write up on swapping out the whole front crossmember to a 73+.
Also, CaptainFab makes the new rear trailing arm perches so you can use a newer 12-Bolt Rear end.
And then for your power steering, some have adapted CaptainFab's Power Steering Adapter plate to work with the 60-62 frame, but some just use the 60-62 CPP Adapter plate kit.

I do offer a power steering box adapter plate kit for the '60-'62 frames.

No they are not, only the front cab mounts are different. All that requires is drilling 2 new holes. And if you want to get detailed, moving the recessed plates for the cab mounting bolts.

The frame rails are further apart under the bed area.
