Local parts source - Indiana

Looking for a knowledable parts source in Indiana where I can pick up sheet metal. I am trying to avoid shipping cost as I will be purchasing a lot of large parts. I had hoped to use GMC Paul's, but just figured out that they will not allow local pick up.

Any other good options? Thanks, Dave

Coopers Resteration parts In Gascity. He is on the board here, and a great guy to deal with.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I was planning on calling them today.
Do you know if they install what they sell?

They were at the top of my list, but can not accommodate local pick up.

I don't think Jeff does but I'm sure he knows people that do. Are doing a full restoration or just wanting to fix some rust or accident damage? I know a few guys in the Noblesville area that do that kind of work. I could get you some numbers if you need.

Re: Local parts source - Indiana

you mention needing a lot of large parts, if you purchase what you need all at once and it is $1000 or greater, LMC will ship for free(even truck freight). I bought a new bed floor from LMC, so I went ahead and bought everything else that I needed that were truck freight items. All shipped free. Your next issue will be getting after market pieces to fit correctly.

I am doing a full restoration. My interest in a supplier who actually uses what they sell is that they would have likely weeded out the substandard products.
I'm trying to avoid the supliers who just buy the cheapest stuff they can find regardless of quality. I enjoy doing the work, but want to avoid slicing and welding new panels to get the to fit as much as possible.

Talk to Jeff at Cooper Restorations, I was in the market for some stuff and he gave me great info on stuff, steered me clear of what I wouldn't have wanted to deal with, even with stuff he sell. Good guy to do business with.

I've not dealt with these guys but they use the sheet metal parts they sell on their restoration projects. Might be worth a call.
