Need Some Radiator Help
Radiator Question - Trying to replace radiator in my 85 C-10 2wd. The radiator I have in it has a core that is 28" wide, 21" tall, and 1.5" thick. All I can find is 28 x 17 x 1.5, 28 x 19 x 1.5, or a 28 x 21 x 2-1/4. Everything appears to fit correctly (shroud, brackets etc). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Re: Need Some Radiator Help
They're all correct and fit but for simplicity's sake only some combos are available as replacement, you'll have to decide with one you're going with and then locate the correct hardware.
The tank seams ride in a rubber bushing, you'll need the correct ones for the tank size on your replacement, if you want a shorter core you'll also need to find the upper brackets and a shroud. |

Re: Need Some Radiator Help
Was really trying to avoid making all of the changes. Think I'll try a big block Suburban replacement, seems to be close.

Re: Need Some Radiator Help
Spectra premium CU730 radiator will fit perfect. I know because I just bought one from autozone. It was like $103 after the 20% discount code. It looks like your lacking the top radiator cover. There only like $20 for a correct one
U can see the right radiator cover in post #9 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=386928 |

Re: Need Some Radiator Help
Thanks for the info. I do have a couple of questions though - that cover would replace the 2 I have now, correct? Would my existing shroud still work? Where can I find that cover?

Re: Need Some Radiator Help
I picked a radiator up from Advance Auto, Carquest radiator part #433716, fits like the one that was in it.

This part number from Advance Auto has the following dimensions - Core Width 28 3/8" Core Height 21" Core Thickness 1 1/4" There's an aftermarket one in it now because the shroud doesn't fit. But from measuring the shroud I got the following dimensions of a radiator that might fit. My shroud dimensions are 27 1/2" wide and 20" tall. Has anyone found a good radiator that will fit a shorter radiator? Or do I have the wrong shroud? I'm going to be replacing the engine with a Chevy Performance 350. |
