Bringing this 64 shorty back to the past.
My Friend is working on a 1964 Short Fleet Side truck. We have been gathering parts for quite some time. We have tried to keep everything period correct and use all of the original to the truck hardware. The chassis is very correct using no reproduction hardware. The truck will be loaded using correct accessories and reusing restored parts as we could. This being an AZ. truck was in great condition. He had the big window installed and it was just returned from the paint shop. We are trying to get it looking as it did on the assembly line. Here are a few photos of our progress.

Re: Bringing this 64 shorty back to the past.
My friend who owns the truck had the chassis restored and the trucks sheetmetal at the body shop. just before he got started after the parts were painted he broke his arm. he was trying to get it ready for Goodguys car show. I decided to help him make the dead line. We spent several weekends putting it together. We installed Factory Air , FactoryPower Steering ,Factory power brakes, Automatic including all factory crossmember and all the factory date correct parts under the hood and on the entire truck. He previously restored all of the bolts only to replace a few. The majority of the truck is GM with only a few aftermarket parts. The cab was also treated to a Big window. The truck came down to the wire. The hood and tailgate still were at the body shop and we picked them up last Fri. and finished around 10:00 PM just to come back and load it up to get it to the show Sat. morning at 6:00. We made it and it looked good at the show. Here are a few pics of it.

Re: Bringing this 64 shorty back to the past.
Thank you , We have worked on many 1967-1972 trucks in the past but this was our 1st build from this generation. They are quite a bit different . We had a lot of help from the board on finding parts and information.Everyone is so helpful. He has a few small things to finish. Does anyone have pictures of the hinge area from a factory custom truck? We need to fix that area. The painter painted the hinges yellow but I believe it should be the gold color.
