Who has a big block truck?

I'm wading through this big block conversion. I need pictures of STOCK big block setups in these trucks. I DO NOT need pictures of modified engines. I want to see what it should look like in all it's GM glory. Need pics to see what color stuff should be, what the vacuum hoses looked like, air cleaner, water neck, plug wire routing, everything.

I'd really like to see some pictures from literature depicting these trucks when they were new and unmodified, or at least a decent original untouched truck.

Thanks,
Kevin

Tx firefighter - The valve covers on mine are blue and the engine is red. It is still stock as best I can tell. I haven't altered it yet.

JimKshortstep4x4 - I noticed that your engine doesn't have the vacuum/electric switch like mine does. I have been trying to find out what the switch is for, what it does, can it be replaced, can I delete it? If anyone knows ............

I think that you are talking about the vacuum timing retard setup
and you are right I did eliminate it. (The system is made to not let the vacuum advance work until the engine is warm and the transmission is in high gear).

The gas mileage is bad enough without having the vacuum advance not work.

Could someone shoot me a couple of specific pics?

1) low on each side, like down at the motor mounts, p/s pump, exhaust maniflods, and fuel pump areas?

2)the p/s fluid reservoir, where it mounts? Any pics of that? Are the holes already going to be in the fender for it?

With the engine in the truck getting a meaningful shot is pretty tough as everything blocks what you want to see.

Here is a pic of the power steering bracket mocked up to a block which is upside down.

Here are a couple of side shots. It's OE, except for intake and carb (and a few internals you can't see) . Sorry all put back together now or I'd take more detail pics for you.
