hello from Bremerton, Washington! i just bought my first C-10!
bought a 1970 longbed 2wd chevy c10 klast weekend. it's got a 4 speed manual, a 307, and so very much rust. needs some stuff but i've begun attacking the rust at least. I named it gertrude after the original tacoma narrows bridge, the "galloping gertie" because it's all over the road at freeway speed. do new shocks help with that much? i'll probably just get used to it before i end up replacing them. anyways, hello! i'm stoked to be here at this forum! looking forward to good conversation about TRUCKS.

There's gonna be a lot more rust under that outer rocker. You've got it down that far, you might as well open it up. The lower A pillar will probably be toast along with the kick panel.
Looks like there was a 5 lug conversion done to it. Welcome aboard from Whidbey Island. Gary

Is that really a 1970??? I see a 5 lug wheel on the driver side front???
Does it appear to have factory disc brakes??? |

Mazoh,
Maybe when time permits you can takes pictures of the front suspension, brake area with tire off. Maybe Gary can come visit you to confirm you bagging this unicorn...LOL Thanks for posting, just as I posted a thread, asking about others having 70 models with disc brakes. If the label inside the glove box door is still intact we would surely like to see a picture of that also!!! Is there a way to confirm build date on these pickups??? |
