100 Years of Chevy Trucks- Are you a "Legend"?
Periodically, I receive emails from Chevrolet. Here's a link from the one I got today. Contains a couple pictures of one of our trucks. I'm wondering if the truck in the featured picture belongs to a member.
http://www.chevrolet.com/truck-life/...17_15088066604 Be sure to click all the links. How many of us are "legends"? By their definition, I am! http://www.chevytrucklegends.com/us/en/index.html Last edited by FirstOwner69; 10-13-2017 at 12:20 PM. |

Re: 100 Years of Chevy Trucks- Are you a "Legend"?
That's really cool! I like the touches on the Centennial Edition truck, especially the classic Chevy bowtie. For me, though, they missed the mark on the advertising photos with the C10. I would have found a more faithful rendition of a stock truck, maybe even a 50th anniversary truck. The one they chose doesn't even have the right bumper or wheels on it! That's just picking it apart from a C10 enthusiast though. I'm sure the people who put the ad together didn't even have the slightest clue about the originality of the truck they chose.
Oh, and I am not a legend because I've never owned a new Chevy.

Re: 100 Years of Chevy Trucks- Are you a "Legend"?
Not I. My 2008 is the only vehicle I've ever bought new, and it's the only vehicle I've paid more than $6,000 for. I doubt either of those two things will ever change. And yes, how could they miss the obvious choice here of a stock 1968 50th anny? Hard to believe

Re: 100 Years of Chevy Trucks- Are you a "Legend"?
I’m a legend I haven’t posted any pictures of my trucks yet though. If you go to the legends website there’s a place where you can register. You and your truck have to meet certain criteria but it’s not hard. You’ll need your vin and mileage. You supposedly get a free hat and some decals a month or two after you register.

Awesome site! Thanks for the link. Someone sent me an email about the 100th anniversary edition a few weeks ago. Pretty cool! I submitted my truck and story this morning.

I don't think I qualify, unless my '95 Suburban qualifies me.

I don't qualify. My trucks have under 100k and I never purchased or leased a new Chevy truck nor do I plan on it.

I registered my 68 C10 and was accepted but they put the picture under 1968 Other. I can't seem to be able to edit it to the correct place.

Re: 100 Years of Chevy Trucks- Are you a "Legend"?
Never having purchased or leased a new Chevrolet truck, I'm out of the running. meh, whatever. I like the thing, anyway. I'd like to think that no matter how it came into a person's hands, it could be a legend. It has over 215k miles on it, with a lot less maintenance than may be believed. I rebuilt the front end 2 years ago when I upgraded to disc brakes, and it had the original ball joints, tie rod ends and bushings. If that ain't legendary, I don't know what is. Rear springs and diff are also original, but I'm anal enough about wear that I will be putting new rear springs on, soon. The originals are pretty worn, and I'm not waiting for a stress crack to give me an unexpected drop in height.

Re: 100 Years of Chevy Trucks- Are you a "Legend"?
If it has 215 on it you qualify. Don’t have to buy new or lease.
My brother got his stuff yesterday. I still have yet to get mine and i registered before him.

Re: 100 Years of Chevy Trucks- Are you a "Legend"?
Basically my original truck at the 05-06 mark. Difference is I had big camper mirrors, no lowering molding and mine is a Custom Deluxe.
